Lompoc Valley Visitors Guide 29 T he Lompoc Music Association offers four concerts each season that include both vocal and instru- mental classical music. In addition they present a free concert at the La Puri- sima Mission church during the Flower Festival. Under the direction of David Hensley, the Cen- tral Coast Singers (local singers from the Lompoc Valley Master Chorale, schools and local churches) perform along with the LMA scholarship winners. LMA offers scholarships annually to students in the Lompoc Unified School District who plan to make music their career. It is also here to promote interest in live perfor- mance and to encourage the per- formance of live music by quali- fied artists. This association also builds and maintains a permanent concert audience in Lompoc, California and its surrounding areas. Their schedule is comprised of four concerts per year. It is composed of talented people from all walks of life as well as a few degreed professionals. The Chorale provides a vehicle for performance for its members, along with enlivening and en- hancing the cultural welfare of Lompoc. The Chorale’s mission is to encourage the arts and music in the community, to inspire au- diences of all ages by performing the finest choral music, and to engage the singers of tomorrow.
