Built in 1876, Artesia was the first county school in the Lompoc Valley, in use until it closed in 1961. ARTESIA MUSEUM OPEN HOUSE It is located at 115 West Chestnut Ave. On view are the old school desks, ink wells, old books, and even a doll house made to look like Artesia with students at their desks.
