Also joining us is Licensed Marriage Family Therapist Melanie Tucker at Lompoc Health – Counseling. She was previously a clinical counselor at Cot- tage Hospital/Cottage Residential Center. She has a background in spiritual care work as well as a mental health rehabilitation specialist. She has been ac- tive in youth scouts, PRIDE organizations and with substance abuse organiza- tions and groups. More information is available at lompocvmc.com. Colorful day: Are you ready for some outdoor fun? Be sure to sign up for our Oct. 29 Colorthon, a 5K family friendly event at the Mission Club in Vanden- berg Village. Early registration is open at lhdfoundation.org . You’ll also see we’re offering participants the option of purchasing a breakfast burrito from the Mission Club to enjoy at the conclusion of the event. Last year’s Colorthon was enjoyed by more than 300 people, and we’re hoping to have even more this year. Funs raised this year will be used to buy a whole host of new equip- ment for the Rehabilitation Services (or Physical Therapy) department at the hospital, Comprehensive Care Center and Lompoc Health – North H Center. New equipment is planned to include a new recumbent bike, a high-low table, an easy transfer system and a convertible staircase. Honoring employees: In late September, we gathered to celebrate our long tenured employees, at our biannual Ceremony of Champions at the Lompoc Hilton Garden Inn. At this event, the administration honors all employees who have reached at least the 5-year mark of service. This gather celebrated those reaching milestones from Jan. 1 to June 3 of this year. We honored 21 employ- ees for working 5 years for the hospital district. Those reaching 10 years of service were Gabriela Link, Nancy Hernandez, Brianne White, Brooke Lee, Frazier Hartzell, Kimberly Evans, Megan Ander- son, Kham Vongphichith, Clarissa Van Cura, Mayra Ancheta and Margarita Sandoval. Seven employees reached 15 years of employment: Martin Hernandez, Jam- mie Macias, Danielle Anzaldo, Veronica Amador, Jennifer Hyland, Fabiola Hernandez and Heide King. www.thelompocvision.com The Lompoc Vision “Good News You Can Use.” 8 by Nora K.
