One Heck Of A Ride

20 My Introduction Bud. It was so sad but Bud and I decided to go anyway. We knew Herman would have accepted our decision. Bud shot a cow elk on that hunt. On our last out-of-state hunt together, Bill, Bud and I were invited to hunt elk in Montana’s Bitterroot National Forest by John French (we called him “the bee man) who had a cabin near Sula. It was beautiful country but, unfortunately for me, my back went out during the hunt and I just rode around with French in his Jeep. We drove to Big Timber Montana after our elk hunt and I shot an antelope. He was running flat out when I aimed four or five feet in front of him and hit a hindquarter and dropped him. Our hunting trips and adventures with three unforgettable friends resulted in the best memories of my life. Bill, only you and I are left. I know you share the same memories. I hope to see you with Bud and Herman on our next happy hunting grounds. I still dream of that whitetail buck. — Abe Luna Check out the claws! This Brown Bear is from the Aleutian Islands in 1982
