T he students of the Cabrillo High School Aquarium are ready to welcome the public back during this year’s free Open Houses! Each event features a unique theme, including favorites like “Sharktoberfest” and last year’s breakout hit, “SEA- sons Greetings!” New themes have also been added, in- cluding “Tentacles” and “Catch a Wave!,” which will fea- ture the Aquarium’s newest exhibit – the Coastal Splash Tank! May 17th Student Projects 6 - 8 p.m. 6 - 8 p.m. 6 - 8 p.m. 6 - 8 p.m. 6 - 8 p.m. 6 -7:30 p.m. Located in the front of the Cabrillo High School campus, the Cabrillo High School Aquarium has worked since 1986 to promote stewardship of our oceans through a student- run, cross-curricular, project-based learning environment. The Aquarium’s current 6,000 square foot facility opened in 2002 and now features over 20 live and static displays, maintained and hosted by Cabrillo High School students. Businesses Sought to Participate in Old Town Trick or Treat Event T he Annual Old Town Trick or Treat event will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 1 PM-3PM. Lompoc Valley Chamber is seeking businesses to participate in the festivities. Businesses are encouraged to participate by handing out candy from their business, or by setting up a booth at Centennial Park. This event is great advertising and marketing tool to highlight your business as well as engage with the community. All businesses within the Lompoc Valley, including Mis- sion Hills and Vandenberg Village, are invited to partici- pate.
